Are you looking for a high-tech education at a top quality community college in southern California? If your answer is "yes," then Irvine Valley College (IVC) will be right for you. Placed right in the middle of the high-tech industries of the area, the college has a reputation for well equipped, high-tech learning centers and laboratories. Challenging academic curricula and strong student support services result in a high rate of our students transferring to prestigious universities like Columbia University, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, Irvine, the University of California, Los Angeles, Stanford University and many others across the state and region. IVC's transfer rate is #1 in Orange County and #3 among all California Community Colleges, with a 98% transfer success rate for international students. Our students transferring to four-year universities typically maintain higher grade point averages than do students who start at the four-year schools as freshmen. Alumni from IVC are found in leadership positions in business, industry and the arts throughout California and the world.

The IVC campus is located in one of the safest cities in the United States. We are halfway between the Los Angeles and San Diego metropolitan areas; close to beaches, mountains, and world renown entertainment centers. IVC opened its doors in 1979 and became an independent college in 1987. We serve about 13,000 students on a 100-acre campus that immediately feels like home to visitors and students alike.

IVC faculty are distinguished scholars in their fields and prominent members of the community. Many hold doctorates from universities in the United States and from throughout the world. Typical class sizes at IVC are small (25-30 students) allowing our students to receive individual attention from their professors. IVC offers courses in 76 academic majors, including areas such as: business, computer science, theater, chemistry, drafting technology, and music.

In addition to being a learning center, IVC is a premier cultural and entertainment site. The campus hosts amateur theater productions, produces television shows, music and dance concerts, and sponsors lectures by renowned newsmakers and scholars. The college fields intercollegiate athletic teams that have a solid reputation for success. Soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, an all-weather track, and a gymnasium all support the Laser athletic programs.

The International Student Center at IVC is a place where faculty and staff come together to help our students. Even though our college does not have dormitories, we help our student find housing through home stay programs or in apartments close by the college. Our international students typically join one or more of the college-sponsored social, cultural or academic clubs where they quickly become a part of the IVC family.

Irvine Valley College is surrounded by a uniquely diverse community where our international students feel at home while gaining the advantages of an education at a first-class American institution. As a college we feel our international students also add a dimension to our classroom experience that enables higher-level learning.
